See the first example on the worksheet. • Making Words with Ending Blends (3 worksheets) Students can choose any of the final consonant blends to complete the words below the boxes. Once they have made word, the students draw a picture to go with the word because two words can be made with be__ , i.e. best or bend. Both are correct as they are real words. • Colouring activity – Which Word? (3 worksheets) Students sound out the word that goes with the picture in the centre and then colour the correct word that goes with the picture. As an extension activity, on a separate sheet, students can write a sentence with the words that are not coloured in. • Differentiated Cut and paste activities (4 worksheets) The first set of worksheets do not contain pictures. Students cut out the ending blends and match it to the correct starting letters to make a word. When they have made a word, they write out the word neatly on the handwriting lines. Some of your students may need pictures to help them join the ending blends to the letters to make a word. For each word the students make, they can sound out the letters. ** • Cut and paste Consonant Final Blends sort (4 Sheets)** Students sort the pictures into the correct column. Very useful addition to your phonics resources to reinforce spelling and writing of CVC words and reading simple sentences. Aimed at: EYFS/Year 1 A set of worksheets for children to practise spelling and writing words that have the same rime ending. The children can practise reading sight words and decodable words. This practical resource contains cut and paste worksheets of 29 onset/rime words. **The worksheets are differentiated. There are 29 worksheets in each set. ** Onset and Rime 1 Worksheets - The cut/paste activity is in two parts. The student cuts out, sorts and then sticks each letter in the correct order to spell what the picture is. **This resource relates to repeated addition and arrays to visualize multiplication. ** Aimed at: Year 1/2 and Lower Keystage 2, and SEND. PowerPoint Presentation (24 Slides) contains: Illustration and explanation of arrays (rows and columns) How we read the arrays What is repeated addition and how it is written (2 + 2 + 2 = 3 lots of 2 = 2 x 3), i.e 2 repeated 3 times. Whole class activity on describing an array on their whiteboards There are 3 worksheets:- Activity 1 (2 pages) - Children write repeated additions for the arrays shown. Children that require support with the activities can write one repeated addition e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 whereas a more able child will be able to write two addition models: 2 + 2 + 2 and 3 + 3. Activity 2 (2 pages) - (Extension) Same as above but the arrays are larger. There is a small section on the worksheets where it asks children to show 3 lots of 4 and then circle the groups. Activity 3 (8 pages)- Cut and Paste activity - The activity involves children cutting out buttons and arranging them in an array according to what is asked in the boxes: e.g. 5 x 2, so the student cuts out 2 lots of 5 buttons (10) and form them in an array, e.g. 5 buttons in a row and 2 columns. This single phonics pack focuses on initial consonant blend ‘pl’ CCVC words. As with the other consonant blends packs: it is child-centred child-friendly and a step up from CVC and CCV to Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics. Aimed at: Early Years and keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students. It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends. This pack contains: Flexible Lesson Plan with learning objectives, lesson starter, main activities and plenary - You can choose which parts are relevant to your class. PowerPoint slides are referred to in the plan. PowerPoint Presentation 1 (30 Slides)- includes explanation of initial blend, CCVC words and whole class activities to prepare children for their independent activities. Simple Ready-made card This is for some pupils who are reluctant to design a card. See preview pane. Print off the sheet onto card or good quality paper. Pupils can decorate and colour in and add their name at the bottom. Then fold along the line to look like a card. Second sheet with the heart should be printed on normal paper. Tell pupils to decorate the sheet with the large heart on and then cut out to stick onto the front of the card. 3 Optional Worksheets to use after assembly or lesson. Worksheet 1 – Pupils draw four things and write simple sentences of what their mums or foster mum or gran do for them. Worksheet 2 – Pupils draw four things and write simple sentences of what they will do to make Mother’s Day special. For example, he/she could draw themselves giving mum a tray with breakfast in bed and then write a sentence correctly punctuated. Additional Worksheet 3 – This worksheet is in two parts. There is a gap-filling activity with the words in the word bank. The second part is finding which day of the week is missing and then writing it. Content: • Teacher’s notes • 2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste • Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures • Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures Description Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper. They can trace inside the letters with different colour pencils (rainbow tracing). For the capital letter part of the puzzle ask children to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures. For the lower case part of the puzzle, ask children to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter. Please see sample preview in preview pane. Matching letters to pictures and colour activity ‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to colour in the picture that begins with that letter and not to colour in the other pictures. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters. There are PowerPoint Presentations to teach onset and rime word families which contain: Whole class teaching via the Presentations , e.g. saying the onset and rime and seeing why they rhyme. You can extend the lesson e.g. which two pictures rhyme bud/bed/red which can be played with the picture cards. There is a Teachers’ Guide on suggestions on how to use this resource. The Picture Cards and Word Cards should be laminated and cut out for continued use. I have uploaded a resource to support children’s learning of the alphabet. Children draw a line from each picture to the correct beginning letter name. There are two sets which you can laminate for use with drywipe pens or you use as worksheets. Two different lower case 'k’s are used.
